Thumbs Up!

Don’t you just love it when the Lord does something to let you know that he hears you?

I’m an avid listener of Internet radio. I listen all the time on my phone, my computer, in my car, or on my television. To show you how much and how often I listen, I received a notice from the station a few days ago stating that last year I listened to almost 16,000 songs. Wow!

What I love about Internet radio is that you can create a station and it plays only the type of music you like. When a song comes on that you like you click it, and give it a thumbs up. If a song comes on that you don’t like you click it and give it a thumbs down. At that point, the song stops and another begins to play. In essence what you’re doing is creating a personalized playlist which plays only the artists and the songs you like. It’s wonderful!

I listen to so many songs so often I noticed that every time a song came on it was one that I had already given a thumbs up. That’s great, and basically, that’s what it is supposed to do. However, I wanted to add some variety to my playlist, but that wasn’t happening. Every song that played I had heard numerous times.

As I looked at the notice from the station of the number of songs I listened to last year I casually made the comment that I wish I could hear some new songs. I kid you not, but the very next time I turned on Internet radio a song came on I had not heard before. Surprised, I looked up and saw that it did not have a thumbs up. I laughed to myself and said, “Thank you, Jesus!” I was looking to hear some new songs and here one was. Not only that, the next song that played I had not heard either. Between yesterday and today I’ve heard more songs on my Internet radio station I have never heard before than those I have. It has been awesome!

Don’t you just love it when the Lord hears you and gives you that thumbs up that says, “I got cha!”
