Take Your Tablet

One night I tossed and turned all night long because the Lord kept waking me up and telling me to take my tablet to work. I thought to myself, why do I need my tablet? I have a tablet, however, it very seldom leaves the house. I usually sit in front of the television and surf the internet and play word games. I very seldom take it with me because I find it too heavy to lug around. The only time I take my tablet with me is if I know I am going somewhere, and I will have to sit and wait in the lobby. For example, I take it to the dentist or doctor’s office. These were two activities I did not have planned for the next day.

Though I did not understand the request, I did as the Lord said and I took my tablet with me to work. Once I arrived at work my day was a normal, uneventful day until the end. At the end of the day, I left the building and headed for my car. As I walked across the parking lot, I glanced to my right and saw a coworker sitting on a bench talking on her cell phone. I had not seen her in a few weeks, so I thought I would stop and see how she was doing. I asked her how she was doing, and it did not take long before she told me she was worried because she had a flat tire. I glanced at her car, and I could see it was almost flat. I walked over to the car and took a look at her tire. She had rolled over a nail and from what I could tell the tire could not be plugged; she would have to buy a new one.

I walked back over to the bench and this time, I could see how much she was stressed out. She did not have the money, and she could not afford to miss any days from work if she had a flat on the side of the road and could not drive the car. She told me that she had asked her brother, but he was not able to help her. She was praying she could get by with refilling the tire every day until payday the next week. As I talked with her, I heard the Lord tell me to take her to a tire repair shop and buy her a new tire. In obedience, I told her I would buy the tire, and she began to cry. I followed her to the tire shop and waited in the lobby surfing the internet on my tablet while they replaced her tire. I sat in the lobby with the biggest grin on my face. The Lord is awesome!

  1. That is indeed awesome! The Lord knew what the day would hold and knew how to let you in on it as well by preparing you! You had the ability to hear Him and you obeyed Him. What a privilege and blessing!
