Just Go!

One night a few years ago we had a terrible storm. When I woke up the next morning, I got dressed, and I went into the living room to turn on the news. As soon as I sat down suddenly, my head snapped back, and I looked upstairs into the hallway. My home has a loft with an open stair rail so that I could see portions of the loft from the living room.

As I looked up, I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary, but the Lord still told me to go upstairs. Therefore, I got up, and I walked upstairs and stopped at the top of the stairs. I stepped a couple of feet into the hallway, and I looked to my left. I didn’t see anything but the two guest bedrooms, and they looked fine. I looked straight ahead, and I saw the guest bathroom and nothing looked unusual there either. Finally, I looked to the right, and I saw the loft, and there was nothing unusual in the loft.

I didn’t see anything that was out of the ordinary, so I said to the Lord, “I don’t see anything wrong.” Assuming I made a mistake and did not hear him correctly, I turned around to go back downstairs. To my surprise as soon as I turned around my head jerked up towards the ceiling. That is when he showed me the problem. I saw on my ceiling near the chimney was a wet stain. There was a leak in the roof near the chimney. The leak was impossible to see from any other angle but at the exact spot at the top of the stairs.

I very seldom use the second floor of my home. If the Lord had not taken me directly to the leak, it could have been months before I discovered it. As soon as the Lord showed it to me, I called the roofing company who installed my roof a few years prior, and they came over and fixed it at no extra cost. I thought, “Praise God when he said go, I went.”
