Pray For Free

Not too long ago I was talking with a woman whose car had broken down. It could not be repaired so she was going to buy a new one. She told me she was praying for a new car with a low monthly payment. When I heard her prayer request, I said, “Let’s pray for free!” She looked at me like I was crazy. I said, “I am serious. Let’s pray for free.” I said, “I pray for free all the time, and it works!”

One of my favorite ways to pray is to pray while I walk around my subdivision. As I walk, I look at the houses and if I see a house that needs paint I pray that it gets painted for free. If the roof needs to be fixed, I pray it gets fixed for free. If the driveway is cracked, I pray for it to get repaired for free. If there is mold on the house, I pray it gets cleaned for free.

One day I was outside in my front yard when my next door neighbor came over to talk. We started talking about home repairs and trying to keep up with them. I told her that I wanted to get the mold removed from the side of my house. I told her as much as I wanted to get it cleaned I was going to have to wait until I could afford it. She said, “I’ll do it for you.” I said, “No way, I can’t let you do that.” She said, “Receive it.” She said that she had mold on the side of her house as well. She said she would call a company and ask them to do both. Praise God! What a blessing. I got the mold removed from my house for free!

Also, one summer I was outside painting my porch handrails. I had put it off as long as I could. The job was too big for me because I could only reach certain parts. Also, everything else required a ladder which made me uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I decided that I would start painting the areas I could reach and worry about the rest later. So I got the paint, put the plastic down on the porch, and started painting. While I was painting a woman walking her dog stopped to watch what I was doing. She looked up at me, and she said, “It looks good!” I said, “Well I’m doing the best I can.” She told me that she lived a few houses away and volunteered the services of her husband to paint the rest of the porch. I said, “Thank you but that is not necessary, this is a big job!” She said, “Let me bless you!” I was so shocked! I thanked her, and within two days her husband arrived and painted the rest of the porch for free!

I told my friend that praying for free is not only a blessing, but it’s also good business! I told her to pray for what she wanted. She said she had the money to pay a small payment, so that is what she prayed for; and guess what? That is what she got.

Blessings,

Sandra
