A couple of years ago I bought a new car, but not long after purchasing it I started having some mechanical problems. Smoke started coming out from up under the hood so I had to return it to the dealer. I took the car in, but the mechanic couldn’t find anything wrong. I assured him that smoke was coming out from under the hood, but since he wasn’t able to find anything wrong I returned home.
The next day after driving the car for a few minutes, it started to smoke. I called the dealer, and he told me to return it to the shop. Again the mechanic looked at the car but couldn’t find anything wrong. At this point, it was escalated to a lead mechanic. Over the next three weeks every two to three days I returned the car because it was smoking. We were all very frustrated. The dealership was 35 miles away from my home, so I was consistently driving back to the dealer only to return it with no changes.
In the middle of this ordeal, I got up early one Saturday morning to return my car to the dealership. While I was getting ready, I realized I had not been praying about the situation. Immediately I jumped into action and prayed for the wisdom of the mechanics. When I arrived at the dealership and walked up to the counter, the lead mechanic looked at me with embarrassment. He shook his head and said, “Ms. Sandra we just don’t know what’s wrong with your car.” I smiled and said, “No problem. I prayed for wisdom for you and your mechanics before I left home.” I then interjected; I’m not saying that you guys aren’t wise.” He laughed and said he understood and accepted the prayer for wisdom.
About 30 minutes later, he rushed into the lobby. He was bubbling over like a little kid in a candy store. He said, “We found the problem!” He said, “There was a leak in one of the hoses.” He said it was a hose that seldom needed to be replaced. He said they never need the part, so they do not keep it in stock. He was prepared to tell me it was going to take a week to get the part. However, he said to his surprise when he went to the parts room he found the part sitting alone on a shelf. He said he questioned everyone, and no one knew where the part came from or how it got there. I said, “I do! God brought it here just for me.”
